A New Season, A Renewed Spirit

Dear Commonwealth UMC,

As we enter the month of September, we begin to notice the signs of a changing season. Summer slowly gives way to fall, routines begin again, and we find ourselves returning to familiar rhythms. These changes remind us that life is filled with seasons—and through every season, God remains faithful. Ecclesiastes 3:1 reminds us, “For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven.” Some seasons bring joy and celebration, while others bring challenges, uncertainty, or change. Yet we can trust that God walks with us through them all. September also gives us an opportunity to renew our commitment to Christ and to one another. As a church family, we are called not simply to attend church, but to be the church—to worship together, care for one another, welcome our neighbors, serve those in need,

and share the love of Jesus in our community. My prayer is that this new season will bring renewed energy to our congregation. May we continue building a church where everyone feels welcomed, valued, and loved. May we use the gifts God has given us,

encourage one another, and remain open to the new things God may be doing among us. Whatever this season holds, we do not enter it alone. God goes before us, Christ walks beside us, and the Holy Spirit continues to guide us. May September be a month of renewed faith, deeper relationships, and joyful service as we continue our journey together.
